Literature Text
O God,
Where have you been?
Why did you leave me,
When I needed you most?
Do you not truly care?
You promised
You would never forsake me
Where did you go?
Did you not hear me,
When my heart cried out to you?
Was your ear deaf?
Are you void of feeling?
Do you not see these tears on my face?
Oh, why did you leave me?
Why did you leave?
My child,
Where have you been?
Why did you leave me?
Do you not know
How much I truly care?
I promised
I would never forsake you
I was always right there
I heard you,
When you cried out in your anguish
My ear heard every word
My heart broke for you
I shed tears along with you
I never left you
Rather, you left me
Where have you been?
Why did you leave me,
When I needed you most?
Do you not truly care?
You promised
You would never forsake me
Where did you go?
Did you not hear me,
When my heart cried out to you?
Was your ear deaf?
Are you void of feeling?
Do you not see these tears on my face?
Oh, why did you leave me?
Why did you leave?
My child,
Where have you been?
Why did you leave me?

How much I truly care?
I promised
I would never forsake you
I was always right there
I heard you,
When you cried out in your anguish
My ear heard every word
My heart broke for you

I never left you
Rather, you left me

Unchain Me
"Unchain me!" she cried,
"Pull me out of this dark!
How long must I stay
locked away in my fears?
I plead every day,
I beg all the time -
why don't you unchain me?
Why am I not free?"
"My child," he said,
"Do you not see?
Your chains are long gone,
and you've been set free!
Why do you still fear,
and tremble with closed eyes?
It is finished already -
do not be afraid!"

Follow in His Footsteps
When you walk upon the sand
However far you trod,
You have an example set before
In Christ the Son of God.
If you trip or if you fall
He'll pick you up again.
And if you pray with great intent
He'll wipe away your sin.
So follow in his footsteps
Try your best every day.
Be glad of all your blessings.
Take courage and obey.

Ephraim
I was there
when you took your first breaths,
a small wrinkly thing in my hand
- ugly as the night,
but to me: so beautiful.
And I loved you.
I was there
when you took your first steps,
grinning with pride, and clutching my hands
- falling once in a while
but I picked you up.
And I loved you.
I was there
when you were sick;
it was I who healed you,
for I loved you.
I was there
when you were hungry;
I bent down to feed you,
for I loved you.
But now
all grown up
you've wandered far
in desert wastelands,
sat in darkness
and deepest gloom.
You've become fools
through your rebellious ways
and now in the tempest
you sta

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."
~ St. John 14:27 (KJV)
It's sad, but it's true. People are always wondering where God is, and how He can allow so much bad to come about. They think: "If God really loved me, He wouldn't have let this happen to me in the first place. He probably doesn't even care." God does indeed care, far much more than we realize. Do you honestly think He takes pleasure in our suffering? I'm sure your parents weren't always there when you got hurt; did that mean they didn't love you?
Furthermore, if God prevented every single bad thing from happening, we wouldn't learn and grow much, would we? Our lives would have no real meaning, would they?

I've had times like this. I'm grateful He is understanding and is always there to catch me when I run back. (I don't have to run back so often now- I don't leave. It's been a long time learning, but He has been patient throughout.) Thanks for sharing- you don't know how many lives this may have touched.
