Take the Plunge

Description

I love doing these underwater pics. It gives me good practice, and overall, it just makes me feel good for some reason. Yes, I am well aware that Terence is fully clothed. And why not? It's a little more original this way, and it adds a touch of humor. Terence often goes swimming in his clothes, anyway. Sometimes he won't even bother with his shoes; he'll just go right ahead and "take the plunge"!

I'm still learning how to draw scuba and snorkel gear, so take it easy on me, would you please?

I'm not sure if I'll do a good job critiquing this, since I never draw humans, but here goes. Overall, this is really awesome. I love to do underwater scenes as well. They are fun because you get to make their hair or clothes kind of float (I guess that's the right word) And it's just something different. I love this, but I think mainly your art would look a lot better if you added a little shading. Maybe for the water, instead of just a solid color, you could kind of make it get darker the deeper it goes. Whatever program you use, I sure it probably has a soft or fuzzy brush that you can shade with. Maybe if you did "hard" shading (like just a darker color) and then did soft shading too, I think that would look really awesome in your style. Tell me if I'm making any sense! The bubbles are really good. I love how you made them different shapes instead of just all round. I've only gone snorkeling once, so I can't find anything wrong with the gear. As for Terence, I can only see two things. First, his hands look a little funny, maybe you could make them look a little more natural, (not that I can draw hands!) And second, his ear looks a little squarish or squished. I would try to make his ear a little more round. But I love his hair and clothes! Very flowing! You did a very good job on this and I hope my critique was fair.
