Sad Sketch

A quick and not-so-tidy representation of a truly heartbreaking scenario. In case you can't tell, that's supposed to be human Tristan poring over a picture of his younger self with his dad. (Cue the sad music.)

Even in my fantasy universe, Darkheart was Tristan's best friend. Their relationship was a far cry from the one Darkheart had with his own father. Tristan was still quite young when Darkheart went away, and he neither understood why nor recovered fully.

As far as I'm concerned, desertion is a crime. Or it ought to be considered as such.
